Research interests

I am interested on translational research, especially in cardiovascular field. For that reason I want to learn and understand about the basic research first as much as I could in this department. Cardiac diseases mechanism and treatment approach has taken my attention.

Research projects

Together with Tatsuya Iso sensei, now we are working on energy deficiency related diabetic cardiomyopathy mechanism, FABP5 related atherosclerosis, FABP4 related notch signaling in angiogenesis (retina vasculature model), FABP4 clearance mechanism in circulation, role of periaortic adipose tissue FABP in abdominal aortic aneurysm pathogenesis, and generating FAT conditional knockout mice. Together with Norimichi Koitabashi sensei, we are working on the pathway of ATP in cardiac diseases and DPP4 inhibitor effect on heart.

It was very good opportunity for me that I could join this lab. At first I didn’t know how to do a basic research and also not familiar with laboratory techniques, but this department tolerated these and taught me from zero. This is my first year in this department, and I got a lot of new skills and knowledge more than I expected. Hopefully I will be able to learn more about cardiovascular research in the future.
